The Cortina Systems® CS4314 Electronic Dispersion Compensation Device (CS4314 EDC) is highly integrated with four 10 Gbps clock and data recovery (CDR) circuits. Two channels have the optional capability for integrated Electronic Dispersion Compensation (EDC). This functionality supports 2 SFP+ modules that can be either limited or linear. Enabling the EDC capability allows the device to operate with linear SFP+ optical modules to extend the operating range of 62.5 μm and 50 μm multimode fiber to 220 meters and beyond.
The CS4314 EDC will enable the 10 GE enterprise, metro or core market segments across all form factors through their size, low power, and availability.
The CS4314 EDC enables the industry move to SFP+ by increasing multi mode fiber reach to over 220 meters; allowing a single board design all SFP+ module types and making it possible for higher density line cards due to low power and small footprint.
