CS2111 is a standards-compliant 802.17 dual-ring RPR MAC, including support for the new 802.17b Spatially-Aware Sublayer. The RPR MAC offers all the advantages of RPR, including spatial reuse, 50ms restoration time, service class guarantees, and fairness calculations. The 802.17b extensions to RPR add new bridging functions to the protocol, improving upon spatial reuse and enhancing the standard's performance advantages over legacy technologies. With both host-side and line-side SPI4.2 connections, Madrid supports dual OC-48 rings at line-rate with all bridging features enabled. It is an ideal solution for adding RPR support to new and existing ADM, MSPP, router, and access platforms.
