Digital Home Processors Product Family:
Cortina Systems® Network Processor Products
To enable system designers the best combination of features for given applications, the Cortina Systems® CS351x Network Processor product family comes in a range of low-cost packaging options. The CS351x Network Processor family extends the capabilities of the previous generation Cortina Systems® CS3316 Network Processor family with a dual ARM processor core that has:
- higher performance
- additional storage
- hardware encryption/decryption engine
- hardware packet acceleration engine
The CS351x Network Processor family optimizes file and digital media sharing, as well as backup for the home or small office network. Files can be accessed remotely through the Internet using built-in FTP servers. The CS351x Network Processor family integrates a full featured hardware crypto engine, two 10/100/1000 Ethernet MACs, dual USB 2.0 hosts or clients, dual IDE or SATA interfaces, a 66 MHz 16 or 32-bit PCI interface, and direct interfaces to color LCD and SLIC modules. For a detailed list of features for the CS351x Network Processor family see Tables 1 and 2.
In addition to individual products, Cortina offers a set of board and software design solutions to give the OEM a jump-start on developing complex communications and consumer products. These solutions include complete reference design kits with optimized board designs, bill of materials, firmware and software stacks. Additionally, in several cases, third-party developers have ported their software to Cortina design solutions and are making their proven application software available to OEMs.
